History of APC
The Adolescent Parenting Coalition Inc. was established in 1993, by individuals and organizations concerned about the issue of teen pregnancy in NE Wisconsin.
Committees concerned with prevention and intervention were formed to coordinate services to pregnant and parenting teens. In 1996, a strategic plan was developed and provided additional focus and direction.
The APC, Inc. was incorporated in 1998 as a WI 501(c)3 non- profit organization. In 2003, the strategic plan was reviewed and as a result a new vision/mission statement was adopted by the APC board in 2004.
Vision
The Adolescent Parenting Coalition, Inc. envisions a community where every newborn child is nurtured by a loving, mature, prepared, stable family.
Mission
The Adolescent Parenting Coalition, Inc. is a group of citizens, service providers and business persons whose mission is to:
- Prevent teen pregnancy through education and awareness
- Enhance teen parent's ability to successfully raise their children and
- Serve as a voice for educating the community on the issues of teen pregnancy and parenting.
APC Inc. achieves its mission by supporting best practice and funding collaborative partnerships with community based providers, to deliver services.
